QUALIFICATIONS

The following table is general carrier info. Pay attention to the qualifications listed in red on the job info page for this job’s specific qualifications/requirements

Minimum AgeMust be at least 21
Minimum Experience (tractor Trailer/OTR)Drivers must have a minimum of 3 months OTR verified experience (no training time counted). Credit for local experience for local positions must be reviewed by Safety.
* The experience on the Job Sheet trumps all info above. Please make sure to check the job sheets for experience required.
* Time spent training at a school or previous employer training does not count toward driving experience requirements
* Drivers with only local, military, or oil field experience will be required to train with a Driver Finishing Instructor
* Drivers who were issued their CLP prior to 2/7/2022 and with less than 1-year experience need to provide their training certificate. If the certificate cannot be produced a VOE showing completion of the training program from the approved school is needed. 
Moving Violations (max in 3 year period)No more than 3 moving citations within the past 3 yearsPending citations need to be reviewed

Involving any speed of 24.1 kmph (15 mph) or more above the regulated or posted speed limit

Driving a CMV without a CDL or proper endorsements
Texting while driving
Using a handheld while driving
Failing to stop at a RR crossing
* Convictions or pending charges for reckless/careless driving within the past 5 years will require a written review by safety.
* Violating an “out of service” order while operating a CMV within the past 3 years requires a written review by safety.
* Convictions or pending charges for leaving the scene of an accident within the past 7 years requires a written review by safety. 
Major Moving Violations- that are automatic DQ’sViolating an “out of service” order while operating a CMV within the past 3 years requires a written review by safety.

Felony & Misdemeanor Convictions – How old must they be?
Based off the conviction date? What are the “silver bullets”?
Currently on probation or parole do not qualify for felonies
Non felony probation: documentation from the courts or probation officer must be provided to safety describing the travel restrictions and appointment requirements to
comply. Safety review of the documentation and situation is required for consideration of employment
If on probation or parole within the last year, will require a written safety review 
Misdemeanor(s) two within the past 7 years OR 3 or more in a lifetime, will require a written review by safety
Any felony within the past (7) years will require a written review by safety, multiple felonies in a lifetime, will require written review by safety
A conviction for eluding law enforcement in the past 7 years does not qualify 
Pending charges for eluding law enforcement will be reviewed on a case by case basis 
Any conviction of crimes of violence involving a weapon or sexual misconduct (including, but not limited to rape, murder, kidnapping) in the last 7 years do not qualify
Pending charges for crimes of violence will be reviewed by Safety on a case by case basis 
All other convictions of crimes of violence in the last 7 years will be reviewed by Safety on a case by case basis 
A conviction of manufacturing or sale of drugs, to include possession with the intent to sell in the past 7 years does not qualify 
Pending charges for manufacturing or sale of drugs will be reviewed on a case by case basis
Multiple drug charges over a 10 year period, reviewed by safety
DUI/DWI- What is the max number and what
time frames do they need to fall outside of?
DUI/DWI less than 5 years does not qualify
DUI/DWI or under the influence of narcotics older than 5 years, but less than 10 years in a POV requires a written review by safety
Multiple DUI/DWI in a lifetime, does not qualify
Citation for Open Container in a CMV, does not qualify
DUI/DWI or under the influence of narcotics in a CMV does not qualify
Is Haz-Mat Required? Is there a grace period for
driver to obtain it?
HazMat and all endorsements are required at the time of the application for lanes that require it, regardless of what the job description states about Drivers being able to get it.
DOT PhysicalWill accept current physical if it does not expire inside of 3 months. All physicals are reviewed by Third Party Administrator (TPA).
For a new physical, must pass DOT physical from a company approved medical examiner
and receive a DOT medical examiner’s certificate that is valid for no less than 3 months from date of exam.
Company reserves the right to require any driver to take a new physical prior to or upon arrival to orientation or rehire.
Drug TestingBoth urine & hair follicle
* Please inform drivers that CFI conducts urine and hair testing. With hair testing we can collect a sample from head, armpit or leg. If driver does not have hair we can conduct a nail test. This could result in a extended eta as we have to order a kit
Failed or Refused Drug or Alcohol TestPositives and/or refusals on a chemical drug or alcohol testing for a DOT regulated position or company does not qualify

ORIENTATION INFO (TADORT)

Orientation will be 3 days long (Mon-Wed or Wed-Fri) and held in Atlanta, GA. Pay out will be $500 upon hire. Lodging will be at the Drury Inn & Suites, single occupancy rooms. Breakfast will be at the hotel and the carrier will provide lunch. Travel will be provided by bus, rental car or plane depending on how far travel is to orientation site.
