Apprenticeship Program -The Apprenticeship Program will focus on hiring drivers who have graduated a 160 hour CDL A program in the past 12 months and who have less than 3 months of experience
-The Apprenticeship Program at JB Hunt will offer qualified drivers home daily and home weekly home time (we do not currently offer any position to a driver that keeps them out longer than a week at a time and most positions are home daily), there is no contract obligation, we pay them at the same rate as an experienced driver, and we offer 6 weeks of additional training with a certified trainer once they arrive at our account.
-Due to the quality of the program that we are offering recently graduated students we will be very selective in our hiring. Each Apprenticeship Program driver will have to meet stricter hiring minimums and pass a selection process which includes an interview with our own inhouse Apprenticeship team. JB HUNT ORIENTATION DETAILS

Direct To Work Orientation Breakdown

Drivers can schedule screenings and complete the online training based on their availability while still maintaining their regular routine. Once orientation is completed, drivers go directly to their work location for onboarding and account-specific training. Getting started:

I. Benefits include:

  • No travel to a JB Hunt terminal for orientation.
  • No overnight hotel stays.
  • Local drug screen testing in your city of residency for convenience.
  • Paid online training – $125 Total

II. How the process works:

  1. The applicant is scheduled through our regular schedule line.
  2. Contact will be made from our Direct To Work coordinators to the driver. If the driver has not been contacted in 24 hours, the DRIVER can email DTW.support@jbhunt.com. Priority is given to drivers who are needing a drug screen within the next 48 hours (results of drug screens take as long as 5 days and can delay a start date so we prioritize by start date).
  3. They will sign their Verification Release form and that starts the process for DTW.
  4. DRIVERS will send in copies of their CDL (front and back) and their medical card to DTW.support@jbhunt.com
  5. Drivers will receive their login information and will go to “Initial Paperwork” link and sign their Drug and Alcohol Release Form. They should then start their modules which are the videos we require to complete prior to showing to work. During the video assignments they can expect to review as many as 28 videos covering various subjects. All videos should take about 5 total hours. They can see how many videos are left to complete (see example at the bottom of this email) and there is a tab called Lesson History that shows the titles and videos completed. Completion of the videos is required before they can start.
  6. Drivers should stay in contact with the DTW coordinators no less than every two days. The drivers can call 1-833-272-1564 which is the main line for drivers.

Note: the DTW phone line and email line are intended for DRIVER calls. If you have questions about status, etc., please contact Jessica Silver.
